Microwaveable Pasta and Rice Cooker Set from Progressive International

Progressive International Microwaveable Rice/Pasta Cooker Set

I really like this microwave rice cooking set and have been using at least one for the past twelve years. I currently have four!

The way to get great rice is to use enough water but not an excessive amount of water.

First add one cup of rice and then cover with enough water so that if you place a finger into the water and touch the rice, the water is only up to your first knuckle.
Place in a microwave at 1200 watts for 13 minutes. When the timer is going off take it out and allow to stand (it’s still steaming) for about 5 mins, then open and fluff with a fork. This makes about three cups of rice.

How about the pasta-cooking functionality? Don’t bother with microwave pasta. Microwaved pasta doesn’t work since pasta is required to move in the water in order to keep it from sticking to the pot.

Nonetheless, you are free to steam vegetables of all varieties! You can steam even fish, shrimp, shellfish, and Chicken too.

Why don’t you steam cut up potatoes in soup broth with some garlic added then mash them for a delicious meal.

This set is awfully inexpensive, and perfect for those who value the simplicity of microwave cooking more than having gourmet rice.
